Obverse

Liberty's face, from the Statue of Liberty, graces the obverse side of the 1/2 oz. American Platinum bullion coins.

Lady Liberty is wearing her seven-pointed crown, and her right arm is lifted above her head, (the coin is narrated in the first person point of view).

The designer of the obverse side is John Mercanti; his initials are right above Lady Liberty's right shoulder.

"LIBERTY" is inscribed across the top of the coin, along with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" at the lower right.

"IN GOD WE TRUST" is on the left side of the Lady Liberty and the year of issue is found directly above the American motto.

The Edge of the platinum coin is Reeded.








Reverse

The reverse side of the 1/2 oz. Platinum bullion coin features an American Eagle flying above the setting sun.

The designer of the reverse side is Thomas D. Rogers; his initials can be found to the lower left of the coin, directly above the rim.

The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" are inscribed at the top of the platinum coins.

The face value of the coin "$50" is found at the bottom of the coin.

The Purity and Weight of ".9995 PLATINUM 1/2 OZ.,"  is displayed to the left of the American Eagle

Note: Unlike the collector's Proof and Uncirculated versions of the Platinum coin, the American~Eagle Platinum bullion coin's reverse side does not change from year to year.
