Brief History of the
Chinese Calendar

In 2637 B.C., a Chinese Emperor named Huangdi invented the Chinese Calendar.

The Lunar Calendar is steeped in tradition, based on the appearance of the new moon, the calendar associates a different animal with each year in a 12 year cycle.

These animal signs are: mouse, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.

Those who follow the Chinese Calendar believe each animal has a profound influence on the personality of those born under the year of its rule.

Year of the Snake

According to the Chinese Calendar, those who are born under the Snake's sign aren't easily ignored and they posses a strong charismatic presence.

Individuals who fall under the sign of the Lunar Snake are also said to be endowed with wisdom and are born thinkers.

They are also calm, philosophical and understanding.

Those born in these years; 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001 and 2013 share the Snake's characteristics.
