1/2 oz. Australian Lunar Gold Bullion Coin Series I & II

2004 - Present

In 2004, The Perth Mint added another gold bullion coin to their popular bullion series, the 1/2 oz. Australian Lunar Gold bullion coin.

The Series I & II gold and silver bullion coins are some of the most highly sought after coins minted today.

Both Series of bullion coins have raised images with proof-like finishes, which often yields a higher premium for the lunar gold coins.

The Chinese Calendar,
a Brief History

In 2637 B.C., a Chinese Emperor named Huangdi invented the Chinese Calendar.

The Lunar Calendar is steeped in tradition, based on the appearance of the new moon, the calendar associates a different animal with each year in the 12 year cycle.

The Chinese believe each animal has a profound influence on the personality of those born under the year of its rule.

2018 - Year of the Dog

The birth years for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar dog include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018.

Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be loyal, amiable, kind and friendly.   (The Perth Mint)
