The 1 oz. Jerusalem of Gold series of bullion coins depicts Israeli historical sites in Jerusalem, God's eternal city.

1oz. "Jerusalem of Gold" Bullion Coin

Obverse

The "Tower of David" is the theme of the first bullion coin in the "Jerusalem of Gold" series, which started in 2010.

Built in the second century B.C., the Tower of David is near the Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Inscriptions:

• Jerusalem - in Arabic, English, and Hebrew languages
• 20 - face value in New Israeli Sheqalim (NIS) in English and Hebrew
• Star of David - mint mark of the Holy Land Mint
  
• Year of Issue - in English and Hebrew

• 1OZ. FINE GOLD .9999  (in English and Hebrew)

Reverse

The reverse side of the Jerusalem of Gold 1 oz bullion coin displays the 2,800-year-old ancient seal of the Roaring "Lion of Megiddo" with its traditional curved tail.

The Megiddo Lion is from an ancient seal symbolic of the eternal capital of Israel, Jerusalem, and the Kingdom of Judah.

Inscriptions:

• Israeli Coat of Arms 
• Israel - in English, Hebrew, and Arabic.

The "Lion of Megiddo" appears on several forms of Israeli money; for example:

• the Israeli 5 Lira Banknote (1958-1972)
• 5 Lira Coins (1978-1980)
• 1/2 Sheqel coins (1980-1984)

Lion of Megiddo

The Holy Bible states in the New Testament book of Revelation that Tel Megiddo is where the battle of Armageddon is to take place.
