The Australian Kookaburra bullion coin is the Perth Mint's longest-running silver bullion coin series. Each year, the reverse design changes to show the Kookaburra in its natural environment.
In 1992, the Perth Mint added the 2 oz, 10 oz, and 1 kilo. bullion coins to the successful Australian Silver Kookaburra bullion coin series.

Obverse
The direction of the monarch's face is a subtle difference between the 2023 and the current Australian Kookaburra silver bullion coin.
On the 2023 Australian Kookaburra, the late Queen Elizabeth II is facing the right, whereas since 2024 Australian Kookaburra portrays the new King of England, Charles III, facing the left.
Changing the direction a monarch faces on British Commonwealth coinage is a tradition that dates back to the 17th century for the British Royal Family.
Note: The 2023 silver Kookaburra bullion coin features the final design of Queen Elizabeth II used on Australian coins, created by Jody Clark.
The obverse side of the 1 kilo. Australian Kookaburra silver bullion coin portrays the profile of His Majesty, King Charles III, designed by David Thorne.

Each year, the Australian Kookaburra showcases a New unique design on its reverse side, reflecting the bird's natural behavior and its interactions with the surrounding environment.
