Displayed on the obverse side of the Austrian Vienna Philharmonic gold bullion coin is the great organ, in the Golden Hall, at Vienna's Musikverein, the Concert Hall of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Inscribed along the top of the gold bullion coin is "REPUBLIK OSTERREICH" (Republic of Austria).
Under the great organ, is the gold bullion coins weight "1/25 UNZE" and purity of "GOLD 999.9."
The coin's Year of Issue is inscribed under the weight and purity of the gold coin.
Inscribed under the year of issue, at the very bottom of the coin, is its Face Value of "4 EURO."
Thomas Pesendorfer designed the reverse side of the Austrian Gold Bullion Coin.
The design is a combination of musical instruments that make up the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
The text "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER" ("Vienna Philharmonic"), is displayed across the top of the gold coin.
Before joining the European Union in 2001, the Philharmonic gold bullion coins were valued in schillings. From 2002 to the present day, the bullion coin has been valued in euros (€).
The Edge on the one-twenty-fifth oz. Gold Philharmonic bullion coin is unique to most of the other bullion coins on the market.
Most bullion coins have a reeded edge, but all of the Austrian Vienna Gold Philharmonic Bullion Coins have a grained edge.
In addition, the edge of the Silver Philharmonic bullion coin is plain or smooth, and the Platinum Philharmonic has a reeded edge.
