Homepage / Bullion Coins: Australian Coins / 1 oz. Australian Lunar Platinum
Last Updated on 05/08/2024
2020 - Present
The Australian Lunar bullion coins are a staple in the physical precious metals investor or collector's portfolio.
In 2020, the Perth Mint introduced its first Australian 1-oz. Lunar Platinum .9995 fine Bullion Coin, marking a significant addition to the popular Lunar bullion coin series.
Since the platinum bullion coin's introduction, it has had robust demand. The coin's proof-like finish and limited mintage of only 5,000 coins per issue have made it a favorite among those who purchase platinum coins.
Series III - Obverse
The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the centerpiece of the obverse side of all Australian bullion coins, designed by Jody Clark. In the design, the Queen is wearing the Royal Diadem crown, earrings, and the Victorian coronation necklace.
The Edge on the silver bullion coin is reeded.

Series III - Reverse
The reverse of the 2024 Series III Australian Lunar Platinum bullion coin displays Chinese mythical dragon with stylized waves and fog, designed by Ing Ing Jong.
Note: The Micro-Laser-Engraved security "letter" is an authentication feature that is easier to detect under a magnifying glass. The micro-engraved "letter" is designed to make the bullion coin more difficult to counterfeit.
